Vanya Allen is founder of Hues Dance Company; a versatile group of dancers based in Palm Beach, Florida. The Hues Dance Company focuses on creating expressions of dance that are as relatable to the human experience as they are thrilling.
A graduate of Dreyfoos School of the Arts (dance) she has studied at Virginia Commonwealth University (Richmond) and the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre (NYC). Her company credits are with Roots in Revolution (Harlem), MUV Dance Company (Brooklyn) and the Sol Griots Artist Collective; a group of performance artist whose focus is on Poetry, Storytelling, Music and Dance in the African tradition.
She has created and implemented arts programming for schools and juvenile facilities as a means of increasing positive communication, promoting creative expression and expediting the process of emotional/physical healing.
Vanya is trained in Contemporary, Ballet, Jazz and African forms with a specialty in choreography. Her choreographed works include marching band field shows, concerts, music videos and most recently a production of the Broadway show "Hair Spray".
