Originally from Madeira Island, Portugal, Anna has been a resident in the Palm Beach County area since 1974. She has studied under various respected instructors; and has been teaching herself since 1987 in all forms of dance including: Jazz, Modern, Ballet, and Tap, to all ages and levels. Although she has taught at several studios, the bulk of her teaching was at Klein Dance from 1988 through 2006. Some of her choreographic accomplishments include commissioned works for several of the Klein Dance Fall Performance festivals and the Young Choreographers/Visiting Artists series, The Florida Dance Festival (where she showcased her work “Coming Home”), Opening Ceremony for The Sunshine State Games, Sunfest, Palm Beach Atlantic Spring Dance Concert, Royal Palm Theatre musicals: Dames at Sea, The Goodbye Girl, Company, Dracula the Musical, Heartbeats and Fame for Lake Worth High School. Anna has also presented her own concerts, including "Exploring the Many Faces of Love" in 1999, which received excellent reviews from local media critics. She has also danced for other choreographers and was a member of the Demetrius Klein Dance Company for several years, where she performed throughout the state, including a shared concert with Mikhail Baryshnikov (White Oak Dance Project) in Ocean Dances 2000 in Hollywood, Florida. Anna is also a certified Yoga instructor and has been teaching Yoga since 1999. In recent years she has also taught Latin based fitness classes, as well as choreographed several Quinceneras.
